1. What is CO2 laser?
Ablative lasers include carbon dioxide (CO2) or Erbium. And CO2 lasers remove outside layers of the skin. CO2 laser used to get rid of Moles removal, syringoma, warts, sun damage, age spots, stretch marks, discoloration, scars, warts, and deep wrinkles.
To explain, CO2 laser treats pigmentation by destroying the outer layers of the skin and stimulating re-epithelialization and cell turnover in the deeper layers. In effect, This removes pigmentation and restructures collagen to both improve dark spots and reduce wrinkles.
2. After treatment
Continuously apply resurfacing balm to keep the area hydrated(approx every 3 to 5 hours).
Do not wash your face the day/night of treatment.
If mild redness or swelling occur, cool compresses may reduce these symptoms(ice packs 20min intervals)
Avoid heat/pressure: sauna, hot tub, facial care, etc.
Follow up within one week of the treatment to ensure proper healing
Must apply sunblock to prevent sun damage to the delicate treated area (Apply sunblock on top of patch)
No drink alcohol and no exercise for 24hrs.
3. Recommend season
CO2 laser is recommended in autumn or winter. This is because it can help reduce sun exposure. Especially in summer when sun exposure is severe, it can damage delicate skin.
